If you haven’t had the chance to take a drive through Michigan in fall, I highly recommend visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Upper Northern Peninsula. Driving through the wooded roads bursting with gorgeous fall foliage, the one word we repeated most was, wow. Walking among the dunes and woods was beyond beautiful. We arrived at the dunes trailhead close to sunset and began hiking through the woods heading towards the top of the dunes. Sarah and Kelsey were such troopers, and together we hiked a dune that was almost a full mile high, and felt like it was straight up the entire time. Despite being exhausted the view was so worth it. Overlooking the rolling hills colored orange and yellow, a little lake nestled in a valley, and on the other side, the vastness of Lake Michigan. Golden hour was perfect, there was just enough of a breeze to keep us cool, and there was something so peaceful about looking out upon the horizons, with nothing to be heard but the wind rustling the trees. Sarah and Kelsey both knocked it out of the park with modeling, and Emmie’s Flower Cart made the most beautiful flower crowns. This has gone down as one of my favorite portrait sessions to date. Be sure check out the Styled Elopement we shot the next day, and all the gorgeous florals that Emmie’s Flower Cart has!
