Chapel Road Retreat Intimate Wedding // Indiana Wedding Photographer

It was the beginnings of a perfect fall day when I arrived at Chapel Road Retreat for Skylar and Gabe’s intimate wedding. The temperature had just dipped below 75, the leaves showing a glimmer of change. Joy danced through the air as Skylar finished up her final touches and close family and friends began to arrive. A love story nine years in the making, Skylar and Gabe met back in sixth grade, and were best friends ever since. A beautiful road led to this long awaited day, and dry eyes were nowhere in sight.

They had a private first look in the gorgeous woods of Chapel Road Retreat, and laugh-cried together as music softly played from the porch. Then as guests found their way to their seats everyone moved into place for the ceremony to begin. Tears and smiles lit up the covered porch as the gentle breeze with leaves. Then as their song, Still – Seinabo Sey, (the song Cece and Schmitt from New Girl got married to) began to play, Skylar and her dad made their walk down the aisle. Gabe had no idea what song she had chosen, and the look on his face was priceless.

After exchanging sweet vows, sharing laughs and shedding tears, and potting a tree together in front of family and friends, they were finally pronounced husband and wife.

As the sun dipped below the horizon and turned the sky brilliant shades of pink and blue, Skylar and Gabe threw down on the dance floor with their loved ones as drinks, floral cake, and laughter were shared. Chapel Road Retreat was lit up gold as cheers of the sound of music, joy and celebration filled the night.

Skylar and Gabe, it was an honor to document your wedding and joyful experience! Wishing you two all the days of good music, snuggles with Rigby, and adventuring with each other. With love, C.
