Fort Wayne Backyard Wedding // Rob & Amy

It was overcast but the weather felt perfect as I drove to Amy and Rob’s Fort Wayne backyard wedding at his family’s home. The crazy part we realized when I arrived was that Rob’s family home is down the cul-de-sac from my childhood home! There was an air of nervous excitement, as everyone finished up final touches and details, and got in place for the ceremony. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight as Amy walked down the aisle, and Amy and Rob then took a moment to go around and say hello and thank all the guests. They exchanged the sweetest vows overlooking the woods and pond behind the house, and then we knocked out wedding party, family, and couple’s portraits by the pond afterwards.

The rest of the afternoon they spent talking, laughing, and drinking good cocktails with close family and friends. A favorite moment of mine was documenting the wedding party and kids, barefoot and searching for frogs around the pond. As the light started to fade, everyone piled into a trolley, and headed to Club Soda in downtown Fort Wayne for an intimate reception and dinner. The rest of the evening was spent chatting and laughing with friends, reminiscing on good times that were and good times to come. As the sun finally dipped below the horizon, everyone headed inside for dinner, drinks, and speeches as live jazz music drifted upstairs to our ears. It was a beautifully intimate day, relaxed and full of joy.

Rob and Amy, it was an honor to photograph your Fort Wayne backyard wedding, and I wish you both all the love, video game nights, and laughter with each other in your marriage!

xoxo Corinne
