There was a slight chill to the air as I pulled into the parking lot to meet Emma and Drew for their sunrise Cataract Falls elopement. We had the entire area to ourselves, the birds singing and waterfalls softly rumbling as Emma and Drew got ready together. As I helped Emma bustle her dress, we sent Drew down a trail to get set up for the first look in front of the falls. Back to back, they turned around at the same time, their faces lighting up with joy when seeing each other. As the darkness faded and the sun started rising above the tree line, we had a blast exploring, dancing, and soaking up the golden morning light. Once golden hour faded into a soft morning light, we headed out on the trails, keeping an eye out for the perfect ceremony and picnic spot.

After exploring, taking snack and water breaks, and enjoying the beauty of nature, we finally found the perfect ceremony location with a breathtaking view of the waterfalls. The wind blew softly through the grasses and birds sang as Emma and Drew exchanged personal vows, rings, and committed their lives to each other. After the ceremony, we made our way along the river and finally reached a nice little covered pavilion, perfect for their picnic. They shared a delicious charcuterie board, and exchanged the sweetest gifts for each other. I had the great honor of signing their marriage license as their officiant as well! With the sun rising higher and higher, we made our way back down to where we started and they shared the sweetest first dance as newlyweds, swaying to the music along with the trees. With the last of our few minutes together they hunted for the perfect little rocks along the shore, before we made our way back to the cars to change and head out!

Emma and Drew, it was an absolute honor to document these memories, and have been a part of your Cataract Falls elopement experience! It was such a beautiful morning, and I’m wishing you both all the love and laughter together in the coming years!
