Wedding at Indiana Dunes National Park

The sun was shining despite clouds looming on the horizon when I met Christina and Matthew for their wedding at Indiana Dunes National Park. I arrived at the Airbnb they rented out for themselves and guests situated just outside Indiana Dunes, and had a chill morning of getting ready and getting all the gorgeous details photographed. After that we headed out to the backyard, which had a trail leading directly into the park and beach, and had an absolutely beautiful first look with private vows while dune grass swayed in the breeze. We then spent some time exploring the dunes, and found a stunning lookout spot for a few portraits, before heading back to drive over to the Pavilion, for the ceremony and reception.

Once we arrived at the Pavilion we headed down to the beach and set up for the ceremony. Family and friends gathered around, and laughed and cried as Christina and Matthew exchanged vows, with the crash of waves and the Chicago skyline in the background. After the ceremony, Matthew carried her away on the sands as everyone cheered, and then we got going on family and group portraits by the water. We then headed back up to the Pavilion for charcuterie, drinks, music, and hanging out.

Christina and Matthew shared a beautiful first dance as clouds began rolling in, overtaking the sun. They cut cake, and spent time taking polaroids, laughing, and hanging out with everyone, soaking up the joy of their wedding at Indiana Dunes National Park. We then headed back down to the beach just the three of us for some more beachside couple portraits. These two were so easy and fun to photograph, laughing and chasing each other across the sands, as the waves crashed against rocks behind them. We got some incredibly cool shots of Chicago’s skyline with them, and a couple on the beach was kind enough to let us take photos in their blow up hammocks. As clouds continued to roll in, our time together came to a close, and they headed back up to the Pavilion to continue partying and hanging out with their loved ones.

Christina and Matthew, you were such a joy to photograph, and it was such an honor to document these memories for you and your loved ones! This was truly the best wedding at Indiana Dunes National Park, and I’m wishing you both all the love in all the adventures and new memories to come!

xoxo Corinne
