Sunrise Folly Beach Engagement Session

When visiting Charleston, I knew I wanted to do this engagement session at Folly Beach, but still be able to avoid the crowds. So we settled on sunrise, and at 5am when the sky was still a deep indigo we set out for the beach. The sand was cool to the touch and the waves tumbled over each other in a dance towards the shore. I met with Chelsea and Brandon as the sun started to peek over the horizon. They rubbed the drowsiness from their eyes and walked together, hand in hand through the brisk waters. These two were so natural and sweet with one another, and it was so fun to watch them laugh and splash through the waves together without a care in the world. The weather was overcast, but the clouds cracked to reveal the most brilliant sunrise, full of deep purples and oranges. And the sun’s rays were kind enough to stick around till the end of the session, then hid behind the wall of gray once again.

Their sweet Folly Beach engagement session was so beautiful to capture, and it’s always a joy to experience a sunrise during the quiet hours before the world awakes. I may not be a morning person, but sunrise sessions have something so ethereal and intimate about them that it’s more than worth the early hours and dark drives.

Charleston is one of my favorite cities, with it’s deep roots, delicious food and spanish moss hanging from every tree. I will always highly recommend visiting, whether it be for vacation, or your own elopement or engagement session. I’d love to capture more of this golden magic for you, if you’re interested in an engagement or adventure session, or an elopement then let’s connect! I’ve got all the hidden gem locations along Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, and more.

Check out Folly Beach and let’s plan a beautiful adventure session for you and your love.
